Let the 4th of July festivities begin! With July 4th falling on a Tuesday this year, you have four days to celebrate (unless you have to work on Monday, which would be a bummer).

Here are the fireworks displays and community festivals that are happening in and around Madison. Hopefully, the smoke from the fires in Canada will be gone by then.
Festival Foods Lights the Isthmus
Saturday, July 1 6 – 10 p.m.
Breese Stevens Field

The third annual Festival Foods Lights the Isthmus is Saturday, July 1, from 6 – 10 p.m. at the Breese Stevens Field at 917 East Mifflin Street. The event features local bands, food, beverages, and a 20 minutes fireworks show.
Unlike Madison’s 4th of July festivities of the past, like Rhythm & Booms and Shake the Lake, it will cost you to get into Lights the Isthmus. The cost is $12 per person, and children under 12 are free with a paying adult.
Monona Community Festival
Sunday, July 2 – Tuesday, July 4
Winnequah Park

The city of Monona holds its annual community festival every year over the July 4th weekend. The Monona Community Festival is held in Winnequah Park at 1055 Nichols Rd.
This year, since the 4th falls on a Tuesday, the festivities in Monona don’t start until Sunday, July 2.
This is a FREE event that features live music, food carts, a happy hour, a family-friendly carnival, Art Fair in the Park, Wisconsin Wife Carry Championship, a $5,000 Hole-in-One contest, and much more.
The fireworks will be on Tuesday, July 4th, at dusk (around 9:20 p.m.)

Waunaboom
Tuesday, July 4 2 – 10:30 p.m.
Ripp Park
213 Dorn Dr., Waunakee
The village of Waunakee, located north of Madison, celebrates Independence Day with its WaunaBoom festival. This FREE one-day event will be held on July 4th from 2 – 10:30 p.m. at Ripp Park at 213 Dorn Dr.
This FREE event features live music, food carts, movies in the park, a kid’s bike parade, family activities, and an F-35 flyover. The fireworks start at 9:45 p.m.

Village of Maple Bluff
The village of Maple Bluff, located along the east shore of Lake Mendota, is holding its own 4th of July celebration. The community’s Fest on the Fourth kicks off with a 5K leaving from Beach Park at 7 a.m. on Tuesday, July 4.
The daylong celebration includes a parade, softball game, and festival in Johnson Park at 35 Bayside Dr. The fireworks start at about 9:30 p.m. at Beach Park.
Shorewood Hills Fourth of July Celebration
Sunday, July 2 & Tuesday, July 4
Village of Shorewood
The village of Shorewood gets its 4th of July celebration started on Sunday, July 2, with its Independence Day Dance held at the old Fire Station at 1008 Shorewood Blvd. from 7 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.
The rest of the festivities are held on Tuesday, July 4. The day includes a softball game, bake sale, art fair, parade, family picnic, and Annual Adult Waterfight Tournament. The fireworks will be at Blackhawk Country Club, at 3606 Blackhawk Dr.
