It’s festival time again! AtwoodFest 2023 is this weekend, July 29 & 30 on Atwood Avenue on Madison’s East Side. This FREE festival features two music-filled days with about 29 bands playing on three stages.

AtwoodFest kicks off with the Convergence neighborhood rally and parade. Members of the percussion group The Handphibians will lead four groups starting from different locations and “converging” on Atwood Avenue in front of the Luther Allison Stage. Participants are encouraged to dress in costumes, decorate their bikes and wagons, grab a Hoola Hoop and kazoo and join in the fun.
To join the Convergence, you need to meet at 11 a.m. at one of the following locations:
1) Circle Park, 500 Elmside Blvd.
2) Hawthorne Park, 220 Division St.
3) Goodman Center/Kipp Corporation at the Capital City bike path, 214 Waubesa St.
4) Yahara River at Riverside and Winnebago
The music starts each day at noon and includes popular acts like VO5, New Primitives, Frank Martin Busch and the Names, Steely Dane, and Kirstie Kraus.
