It’s time to put on your lederhosen and dirndls to celebrate Oktoberfest in downtown New Glarus. This FREE event kicks off on Thursday, Sept. 21, when you can dance to the Polka tunes of the Steve Meisner Legacy Band. That night, the King and Queen of this year’s event will be crowned. If you win, it means free beer and a cash prize!

Over the weekend, there will be live music, a beer tent, food stands, craft vendors, and FREE horse-drawn wagon rides through town. If you live within 10 miles of New Glarus, you can get a FREE cab ride on Friday or Saturday (8 p.m. – 1 p.m.)
On Sunday, Sept. 24, there will be a FREE cheese tasting by Alp & Dell Cheese and the Chalet Cheese Haus starting at 10:30 p.m. A FREE petting zoo will also be on Sunday from noon – 3 p.m.
