There’s nothing more peaceful than kayaking, canoeing or paddleboarding on one of the many waterways around Madison. If you’re a paddler looking to discover new places to explore, Dane County invites you to one of its Paddle in the Parks events, held three Thursdays (Aug. 3, 17, & 24) from 5 – 8 p.m., and Sunday, Sept. 24 from 9 a.m. – noon.
If you have your own boat, this event is FREE for you to attend, and there’s no need to register beforehand. However, if you need a boat, the County has four canoes available for rent for $20, and registration is required.
All participants must wear life jackets.
Here are the upcoming Paddle in the Park events:
Aug. 3 – Paddle 3.8 miles along a creek starting at Olson Road Bridge to Lion’s Park in Mazomanie.
